Why are my Shopify products showing "Out of Stock"?

It can be frustrating to finish your beautiful designs, export them to your store, and see that dreaded "Out of Stock" label.

Don't worry, your products are ready to go! This usually happens because Shopify needs to be told that Caspar Create is the "home" for your inventory. Because we print your items on demand, your store needs to look at our "virtual warehouse" instead of your own physical location.

Here is how to fix it in two minutes.

Solution 1: Check Your Fulfillment Locations

Shopify needs to recognize Caspar Create as a valid place where your products are kept.

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.

  2. Go to Settings > Shipping and Delivery > General Shipping Rates

  3. Scroll down to the Fulfillment Locations section.

  4. Check if Caspar Create is listed.

  5. If it isn’t: Click "Add location" and ensure Caspar Warehouse is activated as a fulfillment service.

Solution 2: The "Stocked At" Bulk Update

Even if Caspar Create is a location, your individual products might still be "pointing" to your home address or a default warehouse. You can fix all of them at once using the Bulk Editor.

  1. In Shopify, go to Products.

  2. Select all the products that are showing as out of stock.

  3. Click Bulk Edit.

  4. In the top right, click Columns and make sure "Stocked at" is checked.

  5. Under the "Stocked at" column, change the location to Caspar Create.

  6. Pro Tip: You can change the first one, then click and drag the bottom corner of the cell down to update the rest in seconds!

  7. Click Save.

Solution 3: The "Track Quantity" Pro-Tip

If your products still show as out of stock, check your inventory tracking settings. Since Print on Demand items are technically "infinite," you have two choices:

  • Option A (Recommended): In the product settings, under Inventory, ensure "Track quantity" is turned off. This tells Shopify the item is always available.

  • Option B: If you prefer to track quantity, ensure the "Available" count at the Caspar Create location is set to a high number (like 999).

Problem Solved!

Now that your "Add to Cart" buttons are working perfectly, it’s time to get back to the fun stuff, creating!
