Design & Create

How do I design products or fabrics on Caspar?

All design work happens directly in our built-in customizer—no need for downloadable templates. You can upload your artwork, place it, preview it, and finalize your design right in your browser. Once your design is ready, you can also download a high-quality mockup to use in your own store or marketing.

What file formats and specs should I follow?

Supported formats: PNG and JPEG

Resolution: 150 DPI at print size (300 DPI preferred for small details)

Color mode: RGB

Color profile: Export files in Adobe RGB (1998)—this is the color profile used by our printers for optimal results

Our customizer will alert you if your file resolution is too low for good results.

Can I save designs to reuse later?

Yes. Once you create a product or fabric design, you can save it in your account and reuse or duplicate it for other products.

Do you check the files before production?

By uploading artwork and design files to Caspar, you confirm that your files are final, print-ready, and free of errors. Caspar does not provide file proofing or approval before production. Once submitted, your files will be sent directly to manufacturing as-is.

Please double-check:

  • File resolution and dimensions
  • Color mode and profile (Adobe RGB 1998 recommended)
  • Correct placement and cropping
  • Spelling and artwork accuracy

Caspar is not responsible for production errors resulting from incorrect or incomplete files. If you’re unsure about your files, please contact our support team before submitting your order.

What is a digitization fee?

A digitization fee covers the process of converting your design into a stitch file that our embroidery machines can read. Unlike printing, embroidery requires precise instructions for stitch types, paths, and thread changes. This setup is done once per design, and after it's digitized, you won’t be charged again unless you make significant changes or need a different size.

Can I use mockups generated by Caspar in my store?

Absolutely. Every product you create in the customizer comes with downloadable mockups you can use for your listings or marketing.

Do I need to install any software?

No installation needed. Everything—from uploading artwork to previewing final products—happens directly in your browser.

Why are there narrow white lines in my pattern?

These lines usually appear when seamless patterns aren't fully tiled or if there’s a slight gap in the repeat. To avoid this, double-check your file edges before uploading.

Why is the printed design not matching the colors I see on screen?

Screens display colors in RGB, often enhanced by backlighting. Our printers use Adobe RGB (1998), and while we calibrate for accuracy, colors can appear slightly different on fabric depending on the material and lighting. For best results, always export your files in Adobe RGB and test print when color precision matters.

Will Caspar use my files for anything other than fulfilling my orders?

No. Your designs remain your property and are used strictly for the production and fulfillment of your orders. We don’t reuse or share your artwork unless you’ve explicitly given us permission (e.g., for a featured case study or collaboration).

Are there any content restrictions for print files submitted to Caspar?

Caspar is built to support creatives, entrepreneurs, and brands who want to turn their ideas into high-quality printed products. To keep that space fair and safe, all print files uploaded to Caspar must respect both the law and original creators.

You’re responsible for the content you upload, and by submitting a file, you confirm you have the legal rights to use, print, sell, or distribute that design.

We don’t allow any content that promotes hate, breaks the law, or violates intellectual property rights. If we notice that a submitted design appears to be copied or is being used by someone else, we may refuse to print it and reach out to clarify the situation with you directly.

Make sure your files follow our content guidelines and Terms of Service before uploading. We take originality seriously—because protecting real creators matters.
