Guide 1: Uploading Your Own Designs
Uploading Toolbar Explained
Once you upload your file, you’ll notice a carousel toolbar appears below the editor.
This is where you can:
-
Adjust pattern repeat
-
Change file size
-
Align the image within the design area
Between the Width and Height boxes, you’ll notice a lock icon — this helps you control how your file resizes:
-
When the icon is locked, your file scales proportionally (keeping its original aspect ratio).
-
When unlocked, you can freely adjust width and height independently for custom scaling.
This gives you full flexibility to match your design perfectly to the printable area.
Adjusting Uploaded Files
If your file has a lower DPI than recommended, you’ll see a clear warning both above the editor and in a pop-up window when trying to add the file to your cart. This ensures that your print quality always meets the highest standards.
With some files — depending on their aspect ratio — you might notice that the design appears cut off at the bottom.
If you attempt to add such a design to your cart, a warning will appear:
From here, you can:
-
Go back and fix the pattern by clicking the “Auto” button above the editor, which automatically adjusts the design area height for a seamless layout, or
-
Continue to checkout if the issue doesn’t affect your specific project.
Once you’re happy with the adjustments, you can simply close the toolbar (“×”) and continue editing — add new files, preview your fabric, or move on to checkout.
Saving and Reusing Designs
Clicking “Create Product” saves your design to your account. This allows you to:
-
Quickly access it at any time
-
Re-edit or resize it
-
Reuse the same design across different products
If you make changes to an existing saved design, you can choose to save over the original or create a new product version — the choice is yours.
Guide 2: Using Ready-for-Print Designs by Pattern Design
We know that not everyone has their own designs ready — that’s why we’ve partnered with Pattern Design, giving you access to over 30,000 ready-for-print patterns created by more than 900 designers worldwide.
The best part? Each and every design can be recolored and personalized to perfectly match your brand or project.
How to add a design from Pattern Design
To explore the Pattern Design library, simply click on the “Add Design” button in the toolbar and select “Clipart Patterns” from the dropdown menu.
From there, you’ll discover 9 pattern collections, each containing subcategories based on appearance or theme — making it easy to browse and find exactly what you need. Once you’ve found the perfect pattern for your project, you’ll see that the chosen design can be fully customized.
Every element in the pattern can be recolored to any shade you like.
You can use the breadcrumb links at the top of the editor (e.g., Collections / Seasonal / Christmas Baby Fox) to easily navigate back to a previous category.
When you’re happy with your selection, you can save your pattern to your account using the “Create Product” button — making it easy to revisit, re-edit, or apply the same design to other fabrics or products later on.
That’s it — you’re ready to start designing!

It’s designed to make your creative process smoother, faster, and more intuitive — whether you’re uploading your own designs or exploring our Pattern Design library.
