Stanley/Stella Product Editor Guide: DTG & Embroidery
.jpg)
Design on Stanley/Stella Garments. See the Result Before You Order.
The Caspar Product Editor lets you place your artwork on premium Stanley/Stella garments, preview every detail in real time and save your design for later. It works for DTG printing and embroidery, and you can combine both on one product.
Get Your File Ready First
Five minutes of preparation saves you a re-sending design later. The editor checks your resolution automatically, but it cannot fix a file that was prepared at the wrong size.
- ✓ File type: PNG or JPEG
- ✓ Colour space and profile: RGB, Adobe RGB (1998)
- ✓ Resolution: 150 DPI at the size you want printed
- ✓ Maximum file size: 40 MB
- ✓ Clean file: remove anything you do not want printed (transparent backgrounds, stray brush strokes) and crop empty space on all four sides
- ✓ Actual scale: a 20 × 20 cm file at 150 DPI prints exactly 20 × 20 cm
DTG Printing, Embroidery or Both
You choose a decoration for each print position. You can mix both techniques on one product, for example a printed design on the front and an embroidered logo on the chest.
| Print position | DTG printing | Embroidery |
|---|---|---|
| Front side | ✓ | — |
| Left chest | ✓ | ✓ |
| Center chest | ✓ | ✓ |
| Neck tag | ✓ | — |
| Back side | ✓ | — |

Meet the Toolbar
Six tools give you full control over your design. Here is what each one does.
Upload File
Add your own design straight from your device.
Add Text
Include custom text directly in your design.
Browse Designs
Reuse files you have uploaded before, without uploading again.
Preview Mockup
See your design on the product in full before you order. This is the eye icon.
Download Preview
Save the mockup to your device to share it or use it in your store.
Delete Image
Remove any file you do not need from the design.
After you upload: the carousel toolbar
Once a file is on the product, a second toolbar appears below the editor. Use it to adjust:
- 1 File repeat, to tile the image
- 2 File size, using the Width and Height boxes
- 3 Alignment of the image within the design area
The lock icon between Width and Height: when locked, your file scales proportionally and keeps its original aspect ratio. When unlocked, you can change width and height independently for custom scaling.
Your First Design in Seven Steps
Follow these steps in order the first time. After that, the editor will feel natural.
Open the Editor on a Product
Choose a Stanley/Stella product and open it in the Product Editor. Pick the garment colour you want to design on.
Select a Print Position
Choose where the design goes: front side, left chest, center chest, neck tag or back side for DTG, or left or center chest for embroidery.
The product price includes one decoration position. Each additional position is added to the price, and the total updates in real time as you build your design.
Add Your Artwork or Text
Click Upload File to add your design, Add Text to type your own, or Browse Designs to reuse a file you uploaded earlier.
Size and Place It
Use the carousel toolbar below the editor to set the size, repeat and alignment. Keep the lock icon closed to avoid stretching your artwork.
Watch for the Resolution Warning
If your file has a lower DPI than recommended at the size you chose, a clear warning appears above the editor. It appears again in a pop-up when you try to add the product to your cart, so you never print a blurry design by accident.
How to fix it: make the design smaller in the editor, or upload a higher-resolution file prepared at 150 DPI at the actual print size.
Preview Your Mockup
Click the 👁 eye icon to see your finished product, or the ⬇ download icon to save the mockup. Preview works the same way for DTG and embroidery.
Designing on more than one position? Files stay on their position when you switch. If you upload to the front and then switch to the neck tag, the front file is hidden but not deleted. Use the preview to see everything together.
Create Product
Click Create Product to save the design to your account. You can then add it to your cart, or come back to it later.
Create Once. Use Everywhere.
Clicking Create Product saves your design to your account. From then on you can:
- ✓ Open it again at any time
- ✓ Re-edit or resize it
- ✓ Reuse the same design across different products
Editing a saved design? When you save your changes, you choose whether to save over the original or create a new product version. Pick a new version if you want to keep the original untouched.
Five Common Mistakes (and Quick Fixes)
Ignoring the resolution warning
A low-DPI file prints soft. Upload a 150 DPI file prepared at the real print size.
Thinking a design vanished
Switching position hides the other file, it does not delete it. Switch back or use the preview.
Empty space around the design
Extra margin shrinks your artwork on the garment. Crop all four sides before uploading.
Stretched artwork
Unlocking the lock icon lets width and height change separately. Keep it locked to preserve proportions.
Forgetting to save
Click Create Product so the design is stored in your account and ready to reuse.
Skipping a sample
Screen and print colours never match 1:1. Order one sample before you launch.
Can I combine DTG printing and embroidery on one product?
Yes. Both techniques can be used on a single product in the same editor, for example a printed design on the front and an embroidered logo on the chest.
I switched print positions and my design disappeared. Is it gone?
No. Files stay on the position you uploaded them to. Switch back to that position, or click the eye icon to preview all positions together.
Why do I see a low-resolution warning?
Your file has a lower DPI than recommended at the size you placed it. Upload a higher-resolution file, or reduce the design size in the editor. We require 150 DPI at the actual print size.
Can I reuse a design on a different product?
Yes. Once saved, your design lives in your account. Use Browse Designs to place it on another product without uploading it again.
Can I download the mockup?
Yes. Click the download icon in the toolbar to save the mockup to your device at any time.
